How do I indicate that I am a First Generation student?

A First Generation student means neither of your parents completed college and you are the first to attend college in your family. By indicating that you’re a First Generation student, you may qualify for specific scholarships, grants, and financial aid.

To indicate that you’re a First Generation student on Tallo:

1. Go to the My Account drop-down menu in the top right corner of your profile and click About Me
2. Go to the Are you a “First Gen” student? field
3. If you are a First Generation student, click Yes
4. If you are not a First Generation student, click No
